In order for Graffiti to function properly, you will need to enable Graffiti to have full write access to your entire web directory. Luckily, this is a very easy change to make.
Widgets are little pieces of UI that are 100% managed in the browser. You can easily drag them onto your site, rearrange them, removed, and even set properties on them all with your browser.
While Graffiti has an easy to use flexible theming system, we did not wanted to make sure you could do manage common tasks such as managing your site's main navigation without the need to edit a theme file and write HTML and CSS.
In the Graffiti content summary article we mentioned all posts need to placed in a single category. This allows Graffiti to build very smart/simple Urls which look like this: site.com/CategoryName/PostName/. However, there are times when you will want to create content that is not organized by a category.
Graffiti does its best to avoid showing duplicate content on your site. This is really important from an search engine optimization (SEO) perspective and generally helps your users since it brings consistency to your site.
While Graffiti Posts support the most common post content scenarios, there will be times when you or a client requires additional field options to properly build your site. Using Graffiti's "Custom Field" functionality you should be able to support these situations very quickly and easily.
As we mentioned on the content overview, the main form of content in Graffiti is a post. While a post has just three required values (Category, Body, and Title) there are quite a few other values and tools you can use to enhance your content and your users experience.
Graffiti provides you a very rich way to manage your sites Meta Descriptions and Meta Keywords. Both of these values can very useful when it comes to Search Engine Optimization (SEO). However, for maximum benefit, it is important they are unique across all of your sites pages.
You are very likely going to use Graffiti to generate content that is very valuable to yourself, your family, or your employer. We have made it very easy to generate this content, make it look beautiful, and hopefully share it with others.
It is very important that you take regular steps to make sure you always have recent backups in the event something happens to the computer which is running your site.
